Which property is closest to shopping? This would definitely be the Inn on the Creek which is merely steps from the heart of Main St. shopping and restaurants and is just across the street from the famed Admiral Nimitz Museum of the Pacific War. The Queen Anne is also very convenient as it is located directly on Fredericksburg’s Main Street, just a few blocks to the West of most of the shops. You may also enjoy the peach stand just next door to the Queen Anne or the popular outdoor accessory store located directly across the street!
Are the Victorian Mansion and Guest Cottages within walking distance of Main St.? Yes and no. The Victorian Mansion area is an easy three block walk to Main St., but then you would need to turn left and walk 3-4 blocks to reach the most populated shopping blocks of Main St. It makes for a lovely evening walk, but not something you would want to travel with arms full of shopping bags. Of course, most people simply park their cars near shopping. Also, you will find the Mansion and Cottages to be located in the charming Historic District surrounded by other lovely homes. Many of our guests feel that the quiet and privacy offered in the Historic District far outweigh any inconvenience of being three blocks or so off of Main Street.
Can we reserve all of the properties as a group and still be close enough to get together? Definitely! We often book groups for special events. You could book all of our properties and be within 1 1/2 mile of each other! Having the Victorian Mansion available is especially beneficial as Suite Savannah and Suite Elizabeth can be opened up to provide a large formal gathering room, dining room, and family room. Please note, however, that this is a beloved historic property and is truly only intended for sedate gatherings. Any special gatherings should be cleared with the reservations service in advance. With the addition of the Queen Anne in September 2007, we can now accommodate groups as large as 58 persons, making Absolute Charm the perfect place for weddings, reunions, retreats...you name it! Please note, however, that if you intend to book all or a large portion of the properties you should contact us as far in advance as possible to ensure availability as we do book well in advance.

How far are you from San Antonio? Just over an hour, depending on traffic.
How far are you from Dallas? Around 4 to 5 hours depending on traffic.
